Kurang lebih itulah yang terjadi kemaren (January 11).
Ade ipar mau nikah bulan Maret tahun ini dan mereka mau diadatin jadinya kami kudu diadatin dulu dah..
Dikarenakan oleh sebab diriku bukan orang Batak, jadi kudu di margain dulu, dan ceritanya yang "angkat anak" itu Tulang-nya suami (kakak/adek dari Mama mertua yang laki-laki+sudah menikah+sudah diadatin) which is Tulang Rolly (Rolly is the Son's name--in Batak culture, if you have a child, you will be called "Mama Skyler--you're son's name (daughter's name when you don't have a son(yet))" or "Opung Skyler" for the grandparents.
Jadilah gua dimargain "Tampubolon" dan ditambahin nama pulak, jadi "Sindy Hotmauli boru Tampubolon" bwahahaha.. I like the meaning though, "Hotmauli" means that harapan supaya kecantikan tidak pudar/cantik selalu.. lol!
Lanjut dengan nikah adat kinda thing, di ulosin, us, our son, the family, etc.
Kesan for me?
Panas, gerah (palagi waktu udah dibungkus ulos), I actually don't like the fact that kesannya I'm becoming "someone else", maybe not, but just feels like so, given a new name, a new last name, "new parents".. I mean.. oh well..
The thing that impressed me about this adat thing is the meaning of the ceremony, that family cares for each other, respect, and by that, you will know your relatives, and more.
Yesterday, as I browsed trough Facebook and unintentionally saw a Batak family went to a funeral ground, something crossed my mind: "What name will they put on my gravestone?" It kinda freaked me out, I don't want it to be "Sindy br. Tampubolon" or "Sindy Sihotang br. Tampubolon", I want my name, what I was named when I was born: "Sindy Engka" or "Mrs./Ibu Sindy Sihotang-Engka" would be fine. Goodness! I told my husband about that, he said "ngga lah! Sindy Sihotang-Engka, lah!" I said I need to tell this to Skyler by the time he could understand about that. Hahah.. freaky...
