I post this on my twitter this morning:
"Oh my, I wish I could turn back time to Dec. 1998 and when April 2001 ends, I would restart it all over again and again.." 2 hours ago · reply
28 December 1998 was the day we left Indonesia and arrived at AIIAS, Philippines.
It wasn't so easy for me to adjust, like with the language. I had English private lessons before, but I was too shy to talk to people around the class. I was introduced to another Indo friend that was in the same grade, grade 8.
We can't talk with another language other than English, but during the first days I used Indo to Early, that's her name :). I understood what all they were saying in the class, but I hardly talk (yet).
Time flies.
Got lots of new friends from different grades and different countries.
I graduated from grade 8th few months later.
Then there I was, in high school, 3rd year, with local grade system (elementary grade 1-6 and high school year 1-4). I "saved" 2 years compares to Indo's grade system. That taught me some Tagalog.
I really enjoy AIIAS friends, I love my friends, the friendship.
Everything was "perfect", my family, my school, my friendship.
I miss those days..
I cried REALLY REALLY hard when we had to leave and head back to Indonesia since my parents had graduated and so it was with me...
Now everyone is spread all over the world.. I do still keep in touch with some friends though..
Really looking forward for AIIAS youth reunion.. I will attend whatever it takes... (just not the day I'm delivering a child! haha..).
Oh my, it's breathtaking feeling this, missing my AIIAS-time family, and all my friends..
I miss TRUE FRIENDSHIP... rarely find it nowadays..
but thank God, I still have some true friends, here and there.. :).
