Wedding Review

Lots of weddings preparation lately, and I came up with reviewing one of my friend's wedding.
It was last December 2008. Don't worry, I've asked for the one-day queen's permission for this. But she does not know
what will I write about it. Hahaha.. well then, let's start!

(Langsung hari H nya ato ama sebelumnya yach?! hmmm.. bingung juga ;p)

THE WEDDING OF ALINE & APHIEL (nicknames):
Facts about the wedding preparations:
  • Was it a less-than-a-year preparation? as far as I know, it's not more that a year prep.
  • Both of the bride and groom were busy with their own jobs, so they hardly find the time to go with this and that, except for sundays.
  • Their wedding invitation isn't the cheap one, it's with good materials, but they should have chosen other pictures, since they have lots (and in fact, I saw great pics on her blog just recently!).
  • The bride and I attended a wedding expo, looking at souvenirs, but ended up none of it. Hehe..
  • There were fitting days for the bride & me at the bridal. We had to bring our shoes/sandals along to see how will they adjust the dress.
  • There were also fitting days for other ladies (usherettes).
  • All participants had meetings and practices.
  • They have a wedding committee who managed out well.
  • There were rooms for the family and relatives in the same hotel nearby the bridal.
  • they have manuals for the each participats! Inside was the rundown, the functions and responsibilities of each.

Facts about the wedding day:
  • Each of the key-person got a HT (is that English term?), so you don't waste your cellular load or any running-out of load.
  • Morning preparations started on time.
  • As I arrived not on schedule in the hotel, the bride had arrived at the beauty salon already, but then, a car was there to take me to her place!
  • Exchange ring and picture-taking time was set on time.
  • They have bread in the hotel room and water for the participants.
  • Head out from the hotel to the church on time with police. Yes, real police man guarded us (yea, I was in the car, cuz I was the maid of honor, hehehe..)
  • Arrived at church on time.
  • Started the wedding ceremony not on time, because of waiting for some singers who showed up late.
  • They have numbers for each car that convoys.
  • They prepared extra numbers for extra cars!
  • Still with the guards of the police officers from church to the wedding reception hall.
  • They got cash for the ushers who had to go to the wedding reception building earlier with taxi (we're talking bout details here!)
  • They reimburse my sandals. Hahaha.. (I told the bride "the usherettes have "souvenirs" from you (their dress), what about paying my sandals since I have to return my dress to the bridal?" LOL! and she really did!)
  • The decorations were great!
  • I don't really like the shape of the building, there were partitions. I prefer a square shape, where you can see everyone in it.
  • The guests were not bored for waiting, because everything was set with time.
  • They forgot to throw the bouquet =( too bad, I carried it along from the bridal that morning =(.
  • The bride's dress was beautiful. She doesn't even have to open her bolero.
Summary:
I love how they were so into details. Unique stuff at their wedding:
  • Jakarta is so traffic, they got police. Numbered the convoy.
  • Participants were people who helped them, they have everything free and even payed their transports. Everything was in the budget.
  • Stick into the time.
  • Manual book for each participants.
  • HT in exchange of cellphones.
  • The budget? hmm.. the prize of a car ;). For me, any budget you have, make the best out of it. If you can afford an expensive one, why not? but if you have a not-so-expensive budget, why will it have to delay your wedding? Just make the best out of what you have =).
Rate : **** out of ***** (that's supposed to be 4/5 "stars". hehe..)
